Backstory

John was one of the disk jockeys who broke “I Am the Mercury” from the Isle of View LP on KOFM in Oklahoma City in 1972. He set up Jimmie’s opening gig with the Doobies and picked him up in Dallas the day before to drive Jimmie to OKC for the performance.

He and Michael preserved this interview with Jimmie and Johnny Pierce during the Dragon Is Dancing tour in 1975.
